Operation Camp-Half Blood
For our Visual
Literacy project we are making a model/interpretation of Camp Half-Blood. This will be a background for the themes, of
friendship, Greek History, war and battle strategy, prophecy and environmentalism.
Today we taped off sections of the old weight deck so we have an idea of the
size we need to fill up. We are going to
have four cabins, one for Ares and Athena to represent war and battle strategy.
Another for a majority of the gods mentioned in the books, then a cabin just
for the Big Three, or Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. The fourth cabin will be for Dionysus
and satyrs, to represent environmentalism.
We will have a wooded area, a tunnel from the labyrinth and the attic
where the oracle resides.
I feel the project is going pretty well, we
need to find out resources still. Like we need wall dividers, the only ones we
know of belong to the Monona County Fair Board. Hopefully we can borrow those
along with that need we also need a large amount of cardboard. When we get all of the resources we will need
to work like wild women! I think it will come together very nicely and I’m
excited to see how it will turn out.
