1) The first is opportunity, the blank plaques are there as a hopeful aspiration that someday they could be full of your name and year.
3) The depression but also the cycle of life. In the charred left over bush is the death, the brown is sort of life/death and it is essentially a use in death. The green is new life or a brighter look on tomorrow from depression of the black.
4) Silence, the quiet teacher’s class room, while we were taking the picture the only noise in the middle school was the sound of the clock above our heads.
8) Life, well that is almost every day for me, in class rooms all the time. I don’t leave school until late and I usually get there pretty early. So this is just an ordinary classroom on an ordinary day in the life of a West Mononian.
10) Boredom, well we asked the kids to act bored. The teacher wasn’t too please about, but that is how we act bored, blank stares, no interest in anything whatsoever. Tuning out of the world, and who better to be bored than JR High kids.
Interesting...as I look I am trying to find a message in these pictures by studying the order in which they are arranged and the subject matter which you capture. It feels like a "day in the life" at your school. Is that it? Or is it just an accumulation of ways the school communicates messages through images? These are my guesses.
ReplyDeleteWe were looking for examples of things, such as gender, danger, depression etc. We were suppose to put them in a random order and we will guess and discuss them in class, then we need to justify why we think they represent the idea.

6) This represents intelligence ... Albert Einstein is argueably the smartest man every to walk the earth, and is a great representation of knowledge.
7) This represents Danger ... power tools can be very dangerous. In our school we have had a kid chop his finger tip off, very dangerous stuff.
9) This represents Help ... When the kids cut his finger tip off he needed help, and where did he go? The nurses office, the perfect place for help when you are sick or injured.
