I feel the movie made some valid points in the flaws in the history of Shakespeare. The fact that Shakespeare's own daughters never could read, he made no mention of them in his will. Which is something that would make sense considering they were extremely famous plays and wouldn't want to lose credit for writing of them. The fact that there is no mention of them shows that they weren't as valuable to Shakespeare as we thought.
The whole love affair with the Earl of Essex and the Queen, well that is twisted. I really hope that was fabricated to increase intrigue in the story.
And to prove this story is correct there should be records of the gift of play that was given well before Shakespeare was famous. Maybe this is true? I would like to do some research to investigate more.
Haha! I'm sure that's just for the story Katlyn about the earl and the queen. I think you maybe understood this story better than me, but I really didn't understand it. It does make some valid points though!
ReplyDeleteWell, the movie biz is about making money, and often the reason why movies like this are made. Not to bad for a movie, though. And your right, the queen and the earl was weird. (But did I call it ot what? Ok not really.) But what you announced makes me wonder.
ReplyDeleteThat story between the queen and essex probably was made up just to add something to the film. Shakespeare apparently couldn't write so why would he have a will?
